SINCLAIR
Sinclair, alongside Commodore, Amsoft, Acorn and Dragon Data, were the labels for the companies to publish software for their own machines, often working with other publishers to produce their own branded versions of existing software. Sinclair partnered with Artic Computing to publish their own versions of Artic's text adventures and with Melbourne House to release the Spectrum versions of their Horace games as well as a Sinclair edition of The Hobbit.
Although The Hobbit is Melbourne House's best-performing title, it is pushed into Sinclair's number two position by Flight Simulation. Released for the ZX81 as well as the Spectrum, Flight Simulation spent most of 1983 in the Top 10, taking the number one position on several occasions during the year, replacing games like Jetpac and Zzoom. Its success continued well into 1984 with sales exceeding 250,000.
