Mirrorsoft
History
Mirrorsoft was the software label of Mirror Group Newspapers. Launched in November 1983, it initially produced family-friendly educational software before moving into games with Dynamite Dan in 1985. Their connections with Andromeda Software and Hungarian developers Novotrade, who had produced their first hit Caesar the Cat, eventually led to the acquisition of the European rights to Tetris. Surprisingly, there is no sign of this version of Tetris in any published charts other than a solitary appearance of the Amstrad version in 1991, over two years after the game had been re-released as the launch title for the Mastertronic Plus label. In later years, the company published titles under the Image Works brand including Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, their best performing title.
