Activision
History
Activision entered the UK software market in 1984 and had its biggest hit, Ghostbusters, at the end of that year when it became the Christmas Number One. It later became Mastertronic's most successful budget re-release. They also owned the Gamestar sports label which had only one hit, Barry McGuigan World Championship Boxing, and the more prolific Electric Dreams label run by Paul Cooper and Rod Cousens, formerly of Quicksilva. Their best performing titles were R-Type and Spindizzy, although neither performed well enough to get into Activision's Top 10. Between 1987 and 1990 they also published titles for developer System 3, including the first two Last Ninja games.
