Virgin
History
Virgin entered the software market in 1983 with the Virgin Games label. Growing rapidly, it acquired Rabbit Software, New Generation and board game conversion experts Leisure Genius before taking control of struggling Mastertronic. As Virgin Mastertronic the company published full price titles on the Virgin Games and Melbourne House labels.
The company was later split in two with Sega buying the Mastertronic part of the company becoming Sega Europe, which forced their budget label to be renamed Tronix.
