The Power House

History

The Power House began life in 1984 as a budget label jointly set up by CRL, Anirog and Silversoft. After less than a year using the name Omega Software, the label disappeared and re-emerged for a few months in 1986 as Alpha Omega before becoming The Power House in early 1987. The Power House itself had two distinct phases; the first featured the artwork of the late science fiction artist Tim White and included the infamous Sqij and Soft & Cuddly. A management buyout led to a relaunch in 1988 which included re-releases of some US Gold's titles that had previously been announced for the Americana budget label.

Omega and Alpha Omega failed to produce any hits, and The Power House only managed two hits on the Commodore 64 chart, one from each incarnation of the label, before it went bust mid-1988.
